We are currently looking to add a Civil Engineering Project Site Engineer to our Charlotte office.   The ideal candidate will have the following qualities:

  • 4-year Engineering degree.
  • Minimum 7+ years of Civil Engineering Design.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) or ability to obtain preferred.
  • Proficient with AutoCAD design software (AutoCAD Civil 3D required).
  • Knowledge of Rational Method storm water systems design and detention systems design and modeling software (AutoCAD Civil 3D Pipe Networks, AdlCPR, Hydraflow, etc.).
  • Knowledge of MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat software preferred.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills required.

Essential Duties Include:

  • Completion of initial design and preparation of preliminary drawings.
  • Organize, direct, and conduct preliminary review of the research and data necessary for the design of the project such as zoning conditions, latest design standards, existing utility information, environmental issues, topo, etc. 
  • Review jurisdictional and client comments and make revisions as appropriate.
  • Completion of final design and preparation of final project documents (bid documents).
  • Coordinate preparation and recordation of final plats, as-builts, etc.
  • Coordinate grading of site in an attempt to achieve an earthwork balance.
  • Design and size sanitary and storm sewer systems.
  • Design and model wet or dry detention ponds, underground detention systems, and water quality infrastructure in accordance with local ordinance requirements.
  • Produce drainage reports for jurisdictional and agency reviews.
  • Assist as a contact for the client concerning the engineering aspects of the project.
  • Assistance with client meetings and project proposal preparation.
