The Schneider Corporation is currentlyseeking a highly-motivated GIS Support Technican to work primarily in the Mid Atlantic US. You will be joining a team currently serving almost 600 local government clients across the country.

The Support Technician role serves as a front line team member providing excellent remote customer service for clients and end users of our desktop and SaaS applications, while managing many concurrent tasks. An ideal candidate will use problem solving skills to troubleshoot initial problems related to hardware and software in order to identify and resolve technical problems. This position requires the ability to build strong customer relationships, where clients become raving fans of the support they receive.

What you can expect in this role:

  • Clearly document support cases and client questions.
  • Provide basic support to our external and internal customers.
  • Quickly respond to client calls and emails in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate with clients to research and understand a client internal procedures related resolving their support case.
  • Remotely connect to client machines to assist with support questions, migrations, and testing the installations, etc.
  • Document and record case communications.
  • Assist clients with GIS related questions, this will include some basic IT skills (printing, browsers, etc.).
  • Manage multiple cases simultaneously.
  • Standard working hours are between 7:30am – 6pm Monday- Friday, you must have flexibility with work hours and be able to provide on-demand support as required.

Qualifications that make a perfect fit.

  • BA/BS or Certificate in GIS, Geography, or a related field.
  • At least one year of CAD or ArcGIS experience is very helpful; or a relevant combination of education and experience.
  • Willingness to learn new skills and learn quickly.
  • Experience working in small teams with an entrepreneurial attitude.
  • You must thrive on new challenges as you'll seldom solve the same problem two days in a row.
  • Strong desire to successfully and enthusiastically support software that is being used to solve customer problems.
  • Experience with local government (county and municipal) operations, especially pertaining to land assessment and taxation, infrastructure and asset management, and E911, a strong plus.
  • Familiar with The Schneider Corporation’s applications, a strong plus.
