Schneider Geospatial Wins the Tech Services TechPoint Mira Award

by Stephanie on May 6, 2014

Schneider Geospatial is proud and humbled to win the 2014 TechPoint Mira award for Tech Services on May 3, 2014 at the 15th Annual Mira Awards gala. The Mira Awards gala and awards ceremony honor excellence and innovation in technology and is one of the tech sector's most anticipated annual events.

The Tech Services award recognizes excellence and innovation in a traditional/conventional IT project or initiative. Schneider Geospatial's use of technology, scalability, cost effectiveness, creativity, and measurable impact were key factors in being selected for the award.

"The Mira Awards judges were impressed by the level of modernization and scalability that Schneider is bringing to local governments, and the tremendous time and cost savings they are offering citizens, taxpayers and their government representatives."

Last year, Schneider Geospatial saved tax payers over 11 million trips to local government offices! This was done by providing innovative, industry-leading solutions to help organizations get the most from their limited resources. Gone are the traditional limitations; lines, hours of operation, undefined workflows, bottlenecks in communication. These have been replaced with solutions that are available 24 hours a day, every day, from wherever the end user is.

Schneider Geospatial's Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) e-government solutions change the very nature of how citizens interact with local governments, improving constituent service while lowering costs.  Our innovative approach allows Schneider Geospatial to serve as the GIS/IT service provider for hundreds of local governments across the country.

With creative product solutions such as Beacon™ a typical, local government client can save on average over $150,000 each year in employee benefits from reduced counter traffic. The estimated financial impact of Schneider Geospatial’s e-government solutions reach into the tens of millions of dollars each year.

Permitting™, a recent addition to Schneider Geospatial’s e-government suite was recognized with a 2013 Excellence in GIS Award from the Indiana Geographic Information Council (IGIC) and with an Indiana County Achievement Award from the Association of Indiana Counties (AIC).
Schneider Geospatial’s staff augmentation service model saves our clients approximately 30% each year and has become a popular way for local governments to staff a GIS/IT department.  In addition to the savings, clients now have access to a wider range of expertise – far beyond what they could have afforded before.

With our continued growth in the Midwest and beyond, Schneider Geospatial is quickly becoming the standard for how the public likes to look for property tax and GIS data, as well as interact with their local government.

Headquartered in Indianapolis and with offices across the Midwest and Southeast, Schneider Geospatial creates innovative solutions that change and improve how people interact with local governments. Schneider Geospatial’s core disciplines of surveying, GIS, and engineering are augmented by our specialty services like underground utility location, 3D laser scanning, and mobile mapping.

TechPoint, Indiana’s tech sector, created the Mira Awards in 1999. This year TechPoint received a 40% increase in award nomination applications over just last year!  Roughly 700 technology professionals attend annual for the Mira Awards gala. Forty-eight independent, volunteer judges spent more than 700 collective hours reviewing the applications, interviewing the nominees and choosing the 15 winners. Judges were primarily subject matter experts and experienced company executives. During the gala, the finalists were interviewed by the judges and the winners announced.

The winners, including Schneider Geospatial, was interviewed by Inside INdiana business with Gerry Dick and can been seen on WFYI-TV 20 (PBS) station this Friday, May 9th, at 7:30 pm and on WTHR-TV 13 (NBC) station this Saturday, May 10th, at 1:00 pm.
