Schneider Geospatial is a 2014 Mira Award Finalist!

by Stephanie on March 10, 2014

Schneider Geospatial is proud to have been selected as a 2014 Mira Award finalist.  The Mira Awards honor excellence and innovation in technology, and the Mira Awards Gala and Awards Ceremony is one of the tech sector’s most anticipated annual events.
The Tech Services Award recognizes excellence and innovation in a traditional/conventional IT project or initiative. Schneider Geospatial’s use of technology, scalability, cost effectiveness, creativity, and measurable impact were key factors in being selected as a finalist.
Schneider Geospatial’s Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) e-government solutions change the very nature of how citizens interact with local governments, improving constituent service while lowering costs. Our innovative approach allows Schneider Geospatial to serve as the GIS/IT service provider for hundreds of local governments across the country.
Last year, Schneider Geospatial saved tax payers over 11 million trips to local government offices by providing innovative, industry-leading solutions to help organizations get the most from their limited resources. With creative product solutions such as Beacon™ a typical, local government client can save on average over $150,000 each year in employee benefits from reduced counter traffic. The estimated financial impact of Schneider Geospatial’s e-government solutions reach into the tens of millions of dollars each year.

I was amazed at how quickly they were able to get my info on the web; and within days, the phone calls and traffic at my window dropped by 70%. We had about 400 appeals the year before Schneider. The following year after we implemented our Schneider website we had less than 20 appeals. – Dan Whitman, Martin County, MN.

In recognition of the tremendous positive affect Schneider Geospatial’s solutions have on changing the nature of local government, the Indiana Association of Cities and Towns (IACT) has endorsed Schneider Geospatial’s popular Beacon™ web portal, the leading local government information portal in the state and part of the e-government suite.

“The Beacon product was an easy endorsement for IACT.  This technology provides both the cost savings and efficiency opportunities that Indiana’s municipalities need in this tough fiscal environment,” - IACT Executive Director Matt Greller.

Permitting™, a recent addition to Schneider Geospatial’s e-government suite was recognized with a 2013 Excellence in GIS Award from the Indiana Geographic Information Council (IGIC) and with an Indiana County Achievement Award from the Association of Indiana Counties (AIC).
Schneider Geospatial’s staff augmentation service model saves our clients approximately 30% each year and has become a popular way for local governments to staff a GIS/IT department. In addition to the savings, clients now have access to a wider range of expertise – far beyond what they could have afforded before.
Headquartered in Indianapolis and with offices across the Midwest and Southeast, Schneider Geospatial creates innovative solutions that change and improve how people interact with local governments. Schneider Geospatial’s core disciplines of surveying, GIS, and engineering are augmented by our specialty services like underground utility location, 3D laser scanning, and mobile mapping.
TechPoint, Indiana’s tech sector, created the Mira Awards in 1999. This year TechPoint received a 40% increase in award nomination applications over just last year! Roughly 700 technology professionals attend annual for the Mira Awards Gala. During the Gala, the finalists are interviewed by the judges and the winners are announced. The 15th Annual TechPoint Mira Awards Gala is 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 3, 2014 at the JW Marriott in Indianapolis.
