North Carolina Celebration

by Thom on June 4, 2015

This year Schneider Geomatics will celebrate its 10th year in Charlotte, North Carolina. and the future is looking bright for Schneider Geomatics in the “Tar Heel” state.

In 2005, Schneider Geomatics followed an existing residential builder and developer client to the booming markets of the southeast. The North Carolina office opened in October 2005 at Hawkins Street and began serving our clients with civil engineering, surveying, and GIS (Geographic Information System). Providing these integrated services to new residential and commercial site development markets was a rare offering in the area at the time. Single family subdivisions, townhomes, zero lot line subdivisions, and multifamily developments were the initial projects that fed the office.

A strong landscape architectural capability added to the diversified portfolio of services we already offered. By the following year, Schneider Geomatics had exceeded the capacity of the first office and moved to Arrowridge Boulevard.

Schneider Geomatic’s Charlotte office’s capabilities and client base grew quickly.  Schneider Geomatics became involved in some of the most iconic projects of the region. Since 2006, the expansion of Charlotte Douglas International Airport has provided many opportunities for our office.  Boundary, topographic work, and construction related surveying for hangers, roadways, and parking decks have kept us on site. The Schneider Geomatics team provided civil engineering, landscape architecture, and 3D visualization services for the National Whitewater Center clubhouse and parkway. Civil and surveying services were provided for a regional distribution center for a national shipping firm.

In January of 2013, Schneider Geomatics moved to University Executive Park Drive. Schneider Geomatic’s office sits within a mile of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte; and Schneider Geomatics has completed several projects on campus. The new Charlotte office location can take full advantage of the exciting growth in the University area, such as the Blue Line extension of the light rail. The new route, currently under construction will pass within a few hundred feet of our office currently. Add the general improvement to the economy, the strong professional staff and our current Charlotte location and Schneider Geomatics is poised for steady, strong growth over the next 10 years.
