3 Things You Might Not Have Known About Beacon

by Ryan on June 10, 2014

Many Beacon™ clients commonly ask me, “Do I have everything that Beacon™ has to offer?”  Beacon™ is used by so many people in so many different ways from appraisers, real estate agents, and government departments.  Today, I am going to cover 3 popular upgrades you might not have known about Beacon™.

Beacon™ Data Collection and Editing
Everyone knows mobile devices are where the growth is in computing today. With this special tab, Beacon has the capability to submit edits and attach memos to property attributes on smartphones and tablets in the field. Beacon™ developers are working on expanding this tab; and soon you will be able to attach property photos, as well.

Pictometry
Oblique Pictometry imagery is popular add-on feature of Beacon™ that provides clients access to detailed aerial views of all properties. With Beacon’s user-friendly layout, you can easily switch between oblique, aerial views and other parcel information.  If you like getting up close and personal with your properties this feature is for you.  Advanced tools like measuring and location are available for local government staff.

Document Access
Many local governments are troubled with file cabinets full of property documents which must be manually linked to properties. With Beacon™ you can link any documents you choose to your properties, either scan and link historic documents or directly upload electronic files. Examples include; historical permits, tax statements, property record cards, plats, and deeds.   This popular add-on feature is valuable for both citizens and local government representatives.

These are 3 highly useful, user-friendly, and easy add-ons that Beacon™ can utilize.  These are just some of the enhancements Beacon is capable of.  Contact Schneider Geospatial anytime to learn more.
