Partners in Development

by Mike on December 15, 2014

We have been blessed to have built many long-standing relationships with clients over the years.

When it comes to the development of facilities and corporate campuses, each organization is different - and indeed, so is each site.  And they differ over time:
  • Different programs, projects, and procedures
  • Different vendors, contractors, and personnel
  • Technological advancements in hardware, software, and the cloud (which is kind of both)
We get to know our clients at many levels – person to person, but also as each organizational level must relate to the overall mission: facilities delivery, plant maintenance, research and development, information technology, manufacturing, warehousing, environmental, administrative services, parking, residences, emergency services.

Knowing that you may be working for the client many years down the road, it is easier to adopt the role of client advocate.

“The best time to plant a tree is twenty years ago. The second best time is today.”

Stephen M.R. Covey, The SPEED of Trust: The One Thing that Changes Everything

The best way to deliver on long-term goals is to cover long-term needs:
  • The one hundred incremental judgment calls on techniques and investment of resources
  • The one hundred hidden, but cumulative, benefits of doing the right things, the right way
  • The one hundred bad calls that weren’t made
It does feel good to make a difference in the long haul, and to see the fruits of labor borne by megastructures and sprawling campuses that impact lives and push progress into future generations.  I can hardly wait to get started on the next one!
